Why me? Who am I?
My name is Victoria Barta. I am a choreographer, dance teacher, and an elite judge of Hip Hop International, one of the largest hip hop organisations in the world. Now, I live my life on two continents in the Budapest-Szeged-Zanzibar triangle. I first visited this treasure island 20 years ago, which has now become my home.
I started my career as an animator at the residence of an – even then – elite hotel on the island. Then, after graduating from the Hungarian University of Dance at home, at the peak of my career as a dancer-choreographer, I suddenly woke up having to go back to Zanzibar. I have been visiting the island regularly for the last 10 years because from the first moment in 1999, I felt at home here.
I have been working, creating, and living here since 2016, now with my husband and child from Zanzibar. For me, a creative, close-to-nature, but above all healthy life is incredibly important. I am happy to have found a place on Earth where so much positive energy surrounds me.
That is why I decided to show this sensually mystical island to others through my own artistic glasses, which will help all visitors to fully relax and to rediscover their soul. Getting to know and immerse yourself in the magical world of a culture and mentality that is the real – and uniquely linked to everyone’s personality – generator of spiritual wellbeing will always be important. At the same time, we can learn a lot from the local people living close to nature – who are often called by degrading names – and no matter how unbelievable it may sound, thanks to them, you get as close to yourself as possible. This is a real treasure nowadays.
